Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and China Daily co-founded a research center in Shanghai recently to probe into global communication studies in the new era for journalism and communication scholars.
Zhou Shuchun, chief editor of China Daily, said at the opening ceremony that the research center was the latest achievement of China Daily and SISU in their joint efforts to develop SISU’s School of Journalism and Communication.
He also said that both sides will play their advantages to build the research center through studying the important thoughts of President Xi Jinping on global communication, summarizing the theoretical and practical experiences of China's global communication.
SISU University Council Chair Jiang Feng pointed out that both sides shoulder responsibilities for talents training in the field of international communication.
Other attendees of the ceremony included SISU president Li Yansong; and Qu Yingpu, deputy chief editor of China Daily.
