GOINGS-ON | 20 Rush: Explore SISU campus with friends

update:2018-06-20

On a sultry afternoon, Wang Ziyi was carrying her friend on her back. At the meantime, she was supposed to swerve around the obstacles and sprint to the endpoint. This is not a physical training, this is a game called “20 Rush”.

To enrich students’ after-school life and improve their teamwork spirit, the School of Journalism and Communication hosts the SISU (Shanghai International Studies University) version of the Amazing Race, a racing reality show in America, according to Li Jiayan, a junior student at SISU and also the organizer of the event. In “20 Rush”, students will play for 3 hours as different teams, running across the whole campus to complete different tasks.

Wang Ziyi is a senior student at SISU, majoring in International Journalism. She was also a former organizer of the game, when she was working in the student unior of the School of Journalism and Communication. Wang mentioned that “20 Rush” is not only a game which tests intelligence and stamina, it is a game where teamwork is of vital importance, when students are required to complete challenges in a crew of four.

Wang’s favorite part is called “draw something”, which means that three players together select a word and draw a picture to depict it, and then the fourth player have to guess the word.

This, along with all the other games in the “20 Rush”, is a great opportunity for her to work intimately with her friends and enjoy the carefree moments together, according to Wang. Yet this is also  the last time for her to take part in the game, since she will graduate from SISU this July.

“This wonderful game left tons of precious moments,” said Wang, “In our college life, my roomates and I have joined the game every year. 20 Rush greatly enhanced the relationship between them and me. Playing the game is also a chance for us to fully explore the whole campus, feel its beauty and its vitality.”
