SJC backpack reporters visit Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Russian Federation

Counselor Gou Yonghai pointed out that students majoring in journalism and communication from an international studies university should dig into the global communication theories and have global vision. At the same time, students should master national policies and critical thinking to contribute to developing relationships between China and other countries.

 “It is crucial to find the right approach,” Counselor Guo said, “When it comes to international communication, we need to figure out foreign audience’s demands and psychology to tell Chinese stories in the way they can understand.”

Counselor Gou worshiped the media exchange between China and Russia. He added that the media cooperation between China and Russia is “the best” as the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.

“China is facing many opportunities for multilateral exchange. However, if two countries didn’t build mutually trusted politics relations, it was impossible to open media sector,” Counselor Gou said.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the China-Russia diplomatic relations, as well as the establishment of SISU. SISU has a deep root in Russian education and is closely connected to the country since SISU was formerly known as Shanghai Russian Technical School. Counselor Guo highly appreciated SISU backpack journalists’ tour in Russia.

“I hope you can seize every opportunity to learn and practice, so that you can have a better understanding of the world,” Counselor Guo said.

After the lecture, Counselor Gou sent commemorative badges to SISU backpack journalists and showed them around the first floor of the embassy

 The lecture gives me a better understanding of the China-Russia relations and makes me feel a sense of responsibility for the friendship.” Zhang Wenyu, a member of SISU backpack journalists, said, “In order to tell Chinese stories more efficiently, we need to work harder.”

In 2016 and 2017, a variety of cultural events were planned for the China-Russia Media Exchange Year, which had greatly promoted cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
