Dr. Yingyan Sheng is currently Head of Advertising Department and graduate advisor of Journalism and Communication at Shanghai International Studies University. She got her Ph.D. in Communication Studies at Kent State University in the U.S.A, and both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Shanghai International Studies University. Her research interests include mediated interpersonal communication, advertising effects in digital media, and image construction in global communication. She has published three books, three book chapters, and several journal articles. She has won the third prize of Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award. She is preparatory committee member of Times Young Creative Awards, member of NCA, and juror at Hongkou District People's Court. She used to work as a freelance copywriter at Ogilvy PR, and a part-time interpreter for Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai.
