Xi Nian, a lecturer with a Ph.D degree in Translation Studies and a Master’s degree in English Linguistics. Her research interest is in the field of Translation and Teaching Method. Since March 2000, she has been teaching in the School of Journalism and Communication, Shanghai International Studies University(SISU). The courses she offers are Intensive English reading, Extensive English Reading, Phonetics, Audio-visual-oral English, and English-Chinese Translation. She has been a visiting scholar to Western Oregon University from September 2012 to August 2013. She has completed one research project sponsored by SISU, and participated in some other research projects. She has published three papers and two translations in the field of Translation and linguistics. She has co-authored two textbooks on Translation and Reading and Writing respectively. She has been working for the Postgraduate School of SISU from March 2002 to October 2006.
