The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Newcastle in Australia and His Delegation Visit Shanghai International Studies University

      On the afternoon of November 18, 2024, Robert Greenberg, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Newcastle in Australia, Francesco Paolucci, Assistant Dean of the Newcastle Business School and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Futures, and others visited Shanghai International Studies University. Zhu Yushan, Deputy Dean of the Overseas Cooperation College of Shanghai International Studies University, met with the guests at the International Education Center of the Songjiang Campus.  

      Zhu Yushan warmly welcomed the visit of Robert Greenberg and his delegation. He reviewed the cooperation history between the Overseas Cooperation College and the University of Newcastle. He said that since the signing of the cooperation agreement in 2012, the two sides had achieved fruitful results in the 2+2 project in the business field. He pointed out that the cooperation agreement between the two sides had been renewed several times, with remarkable cooperation results and high mutual recognition. In the future, the two sides would continue to deepen their cooperation, actively explore new areas, and jointly promote the cooperation to a higher level. 

      Robert Greenberg thanked the Overseas Cooperation College for its warm reception and highly valued the status of the Overseas Cooperation College of Shanghai International Studies University as an important partner of the University of Newcastle. He was satisfied with the previous cooperation results between the two sides. He looked forward to further deepening the connection between the two sides by exploring new cooperation models, creating more opportunities for more students to study at the University of Newcastle, and attracting more students to participate in the 2+2 project. He also specifically emphasized that the University of Newcastle had distinct school-running characteristics and attached great importance to providing students with opportunities to participate in industry practices both on and off campus. 

       After the meeting, Robert Greenberg and his delegation came to the Overseas Cooperation College to interact with the students of the undergraduate study abroad program at the University of Newcastle and introduced the support provided by the University of Newcastle in terms of study, life, and career guidance for international students.
