SISU student’s donation makes a difference in Mojiang county

Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) has recently received a letter from the government of Mojiang Hani Autonomous County (Mojiang County) in Yunnan Province, Southwestern China. The letter expressed gratitude to Qiu Bijun, a student of SISU’s School of Germanic Studies, for her donation.

Qiu went to Mojiang County to do the social practice in late August. When she touched and felt the life of the poverty-stricken area, she decided to donate her computer at once, with the hope that her tiny kindness could help improve the local public services and facilities. Her generosity was praised by the local government.

Mojiang County is one of the poorest areas in China. Each year, several groups of SISU students will go there as volunteers to support local education during summer vacation.
