Hungarian Consul General in Shanghai visits SISU to enhance educational ties

Hungary’s Consul General in Shanghai and his colleagues visited Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) on May 18 to further the cooperation in culture and education.

According to the Minister of Education, SISU’s new degree program of Hungarian language at the School of Russian and Eurasian Studies would start enrolling students from September, 2016. SISU had made full preparation to assure students with reasonable courses and professional teachers.

SISU President Cao Deming met with Levente Horvath, Hungary’s Consul General in Shanghai and Szentmartoni Livia Ilona, Hungary’s Consul of Culture and Education. During the meeting, they discussed on organizing a Hungary Cultural Week in SISU and holding the opening ceremony of SISU’s Hungarian language major.

Cao thanked Levente Horvath and his colleagues for helping build up SISU’s Hungarian language major and the Confucius Institute which was organized by SISU and University of Szeged in Hungary.

Cao also pointed out that SISU had signed an agreement with the Balassi Institute to collaborate on teaching the Hungarian language and cultivating Hungarian talents.

Levente Horvath thanked SISU for promoting Sino-Hungarian communication in education, culture and academy. He said, “the Hungarian Consulate in Shanghai would help SISU in students’ international exchange, internship and employment.
