ased on years of experience and achievements in physical education, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) has launched its first master’s degree program in physical education and held a teach-in to recruit teachers for the program in September.

Li Lingshu, an instructor of SISU’s Faculty for Physical Education, described the new program, including cultivating objectives, research directions, curriculums and more.

“It is inadequate to complete the physical education only by learning the conventional curriculum like psychology, pedagogy or normal system theory,” Li said. “This program requires proficient skills and good knowledge of foreign languages. The international vision also matters a lot.”

Li said the academic specialties for the new program were arranged by professional instructors with international backgrounds. It will offer a broad education ranging from sports psychology and physiology to multi-languages learning.

She said the university has been recruiting international talent for teachers for the program, as well.
