Summary: This lecture is to discuss with the audience some representative ideas of the various schools of Chinese philosophical thoughts, which have influenced and even shaped the Chinese nationality. What are the reasons behind some of the common phenomena in the Chinese society? Why do the Chinese behave in “the Chinese way”? The speaker is not going to (as a matter of fact unable to) give a scholasticism manifestation of theories, but is to invite the listeners to ponder on those petty issues around them.
Speaker Biography: Ma Dongle is lecturer of English at SISU's School of English Studies. His research interest is English grammar. He once has been examiner of BEC and Shanghai English advanced interpretation test.
